Scatter Plugins

I'm a newbie to Maya and CG in general, and I'm looking for a good scatter plugin. I was ready to buy Forest Pack, but realized its only for 3DS Max. Any suggestions? I've read a bit about carbon scatter, but the reviews seem a bit mixed.

Any help, or advice is welcome.
