I have created a character and I want her to have Maya's xgen hair. However, I am confused about how it is implemented into your animation.
The goal is to animate her and have the xgen hair simulate accordingly, but as far as I know character rigs shouldn't contain the xgen hair and it is instead added after the animation has been cached.
Does the animator have to work with a bald character? In various behind-the-scenes, I see that characters have polygon hair for the animators to animate but I don't see how that then links back to xgen.
This is my thinking at the moment:
Reference character rig > animate > cache > somehow implement your previously created xgen hair and play with the dynamics > render
If anyone has any information at all about the process of implementing xgen hair for animation production, I'd be very appreciative.
