Hi, I am a compositor but not very knowledgeable with Maya 3D software. I have created a 3D scene with Maya simulating a lake with some 3D objects on top of a plane resembling water. I had rendered out all my passes except one. I need a reflection pass. I have tried rendering out with mia_material and it works. I get reflections from my 3D objects. The problem is, the plane that is producing a reflection is also opaque with a black color. If I set the color to white, it will be a white plane with reflection, even if I set the transparency and selecting one of the glass presets. How can I achieve a transparent plane with no color and is producing a reflection from my 3D objects? Should I use a Blinn over a mia_material? I am planning on bringing it all back into nuke and composite it together. Thank you for your time to read this.
