xgen hair dissapears after reopen an scene in maya 2017!!!

Hi

I model a hair style for a couple of hours, save it and also save a back up, the next day i reopen the scene and all the hair is gone. The collection is in the outliner but there is nothing in the viewport, even the xgen window is empty ready just to begin a new project.

The hair base is an alembic file because i will be animating the hair and i prefer to not applied to a wrap mesh... Before i save the scene the guides were not hidden.

I`m using maya 2017 update 3.

Any ideas of how to recover the xgen hair?

I look in to the project folder and there are the folders of the collection and description but the are not files with an exception of an connectivity.xgc file
